French Book Club

The French Book Club is a friendly French reading group led by a member of the Culture and Communication team. It meets once a month on a Monday evening to discuss a work of Francophone or French literature: a novel, short stories, poetry or a non-fiction book.

An AFM Membership is required to attend the French Book Club (click here to learn more), which is open to all - you do not have to be enrolled on a class with us - and there is no obligation to attend all sessions; simply turn up on the day. All works and discussions are in French, so an intermediate level is required.

The French Book Club alternates between online and face-to-face meetings (at Manchester Central Library - M2 5PD).

Send us an email to sign up if you would like to join us.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Alliance Française de Manchester cultural events are open and accessible to everyone.
They are public events and under 18s remain the responsiblity of their parent/guardian at all times.
