A Manchester Institution
We do French differently here!
Since 1997, the Alliance Française de Manchester has been serving an ever-growing community of Mancunian
French-language enthusiasts.
More than just a language school, we are a locally-registered and locally-run charity. Our aim is to promote
the French language and French-speaking cultures.
We are an apolitical, non-religious, not-for-profit organisation that is open to everyone.
If you are interested in becoming part of a local and international network of people who love language diversity, positive
dialogue
and cultural exchange, then come and say "bonjour", we’d love to meet you!
A Local Charity with International Connections
The Alliance Française de Manchester is also part of an international organisation for the promotion and support of the French language. You can find our 834 sister institutions across 5 continents and in 132 countries.
Headquartered in Paris, the Fondation des Alliances Françaises provides a quality framework which ensures that the services at all of the Alliances Françaises around the world are of the same high professional standard.
A National Network
On the national level, the Alliance Française de Manchester is part of a thriving UK-wide network of Alliances Françaises
and Institut Français, with whom we regularly co-organise training and cultural events.
You can find an Institut Français in London and in Edinburgh.
You can find an Alliance Française in Bristol/Bath,
Cambridge, Devon,
Glasgow, Jersey,Leeds,
Milton-Keynes, Newcastle,
Oxford and York.
Drop in and say hi to them if you are visiting the area!
There might be some film screenings or cultural events for you to enjoy...
